Sunday Night Beef Noodle Soup
Every Sunday evening, we head out for a big bowl of rich Taiwanese beef noodle soup. The broth is slow-cooked, the beef is tender, and the noodles are perfectly chewy. It’s warm, comforting, and feels like the perfect way to end the weekend.
Night Market Feast at Shilin
Walking through the night market, the smell of fried chicken cutlets, stinky tofu, and scallion pancakes fills the air. We share bubble tea and grilled skewers while weaving through the crowds. It’s loud, bright, and full of energy.
Grandma’s Lu Rou Fan
My grandmother makes the best braised pork rice. The savory sauce soaks into the rice, and she always adds a soy-marinated egg on the side. She cooks it slowly, and the whole house smells sweet and savory.
Lunar New Year Dumplings
On Lunar New Year, we gather to make boiled dumplings together. Folding them by hand, laughing around the table, and waiting for them to cook is part of the celebration. Eating them at midnight feels special every year.
